12th March

Managed to get two full days on the plot and got my onions, shallots and garlic weeded. They're looking very strong - decidedly perky I'd say!

Picked some lovely dwarf pak choi which I sowed back in October, and it's come through the winter out in the open without any problems. I had em stir fried for tea along with some pencil leeks, spring onions and kale leaves. I've got some lovely carrots too which are dead sweet. Chicory Rosso Treviso, which I've never grown before, is growing well and looks a picture. The celeriac which I'd given up on are surprisingly quite big. The del Veneto ones are the best of the bunch, and have purple veins running through them. Very posh!

Spent all afternoon today making soups so as to use up all the weekend's picking.
